To Whom It May Concern,

I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Alyssa Pfluger.

I have known Alyssa for approximately 6 years and am continually impressed with her talents, character and maturity.  As a Board Member of LATTE (the LaGrange Area Teen Theater Ensemble), I have had an opportunity to work directly with her and to witness first-hand not only her theatrical talents and her organizational skills, but her outstanding leadership.

Two years ago, LATTE’s predecessor organization, LGHTP (LaGrange Hometown Teen Players), was about to fold.  Alyssa, along with a few other teens, saw that there was a viable future ahead of the troupe under a different name and different leadership; they worked to make that happen.  Alyssa played a major role in growing this rebirthed teen theatrical group.  She led the way in recruiting new members, delivering theater workshops, mentoring new actors in their roles,  and delivering theater for Teens by Teens with Teens.  This included coaching teens in the areas of marketing and sales, scriptwriting, event planning and student directing.   Her efforts paid off many times-fold, and the LATTE organization is growing strong at the end of its second year.

Alyssa has earned the respect of her fellow actors by always being prepared at rehearsals she not only knows her lines and roles, but also  the roles of others.  She has an understanding of what needs to be accomplished at each rehearsal, where her fellow actors are progress-wise, and what must be done in order to meet certain performance preparation milestones.  She understands the motivations and challenges which individuals face, and she works to creatively address them, always encouraging and supporting her fellow actors.  She is the teen who the other actors turn to when they need assistance or have come upon a barrier.  Alyssa has a clear sense of direction, an empathetic and caring personality, and is able to lead her fellow teens in a manner that is direct yet empowering.

Alyssa holds various leadership roles in LATTE. She works as a teen senior mentor, assistant director and choreographer and a college intern.  With each role, she challenges herself and assists the establishment of LATTE as a vibrant and credible teen performance and leadership organization — honing her talents and skills as she enriches the LATTE organization.  I know that Alyssa will accomplish much as she takes these skills forward in the next phase of her academic and personal life. Meanwhile, LATTE is challenged to find another teen to take up the leadership baton that has been so skillfully carried by Alyssa Pfluger.

Sincerely,

Maria Niedos
